A dancer’s ScotDance USA registration card allows them to enter any competition that abides by RSOBHD rules anywhere in the world. Refer to the RSOBHD website for information about upcoming Scottish competitions and championships.

Not within 3 months of the class or workshop. If a dancer attends any class, workshop, or seminar, including tuition by electronic methods (e.g. Skype), that dancer cannot compete in front of any adjudicator who has instructed those training sessions for a period of 3 months after the last class, workshop, seminar, or tuition method, electronic or otherwise.

It is the responsibility of the dancer to notify the National Registrar of a change in teacher, in writing, as soon as possible. The National Registrar will contact the Regional Registrar and ScotDance USA Secretary.

Depending on the class of the dancer, it can vary. See the Primary to Premier class advancement overview in our "Class Advancement Policies" section and we encourage you to talk with your teacher about a plan for advancement.

Once a dancer competes in a higher category, they cannot compete in a category lower than the one to which they’ve advanced. For example, once you dance in the Premier category, you are forever a Premier dancer.

Dancers will repeat the registration process, sending required materials to the Regional Registrar. See the step-by-step process above. Remember, any dancer who moves up from one category to another will not pay an additional “upgrade” fee.

• Dancers who attend a university outside their home region have the option of dancing in the Regional Championship of their home region or the region where they’re currently residing, provided they have lived there for at least 6 months prior to that Regional Championship.
• If a dancer chooses to compete in a Regional Selection Competition/Championship outside of their home region, please contact the National Registrar to follow the new procedures.
• Dancers must enter the Regional Selection Competition/Championship no later than one month prior to that event.

You do not need a new registration card due to relocation. You will register in the new region the following year.

• The loss of a Registration card should be reported immediately.  Lost cards are subject to a $20.00 replacement fee.
• To receive a replacement card, dancers must provide a new registration form, new photo and SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope).
• If a Premier dancer loses their card, A letter must be sent to the National Registrar explaining the situation. If approved they can receive a replacement card by submitting a registration form and the appropriate fee.
